From the bestselling author of Suddenly Royal comes the first in a sparkling new series about America’s favorite royal—the First Daughter.

Everyone makes mistakes, especially in college. But when you’re the daughter of the President of the United States, any little slip up is a huge embarrassment. Maddie McGuire’s latest error in judgment lands her in police custody, giving the press a field day. Agreeing to do community service as penance and to restore her tattered reputation, Maddie never dreams incredibly good looking but extremely annoying vice president’s son, Jake Simmon, will be along for the ride.

Recently returning from Afghanistan with a life-altering injury, Jake is wrestling with his own demons. He doesn’t have the time or patience to deal with the likes of Maddie. They’re like oil and water and every time they’re together, it’s combustible. But there’s a thin line between love and hate, and it’s not long before their fiery arguments give way to infinitely sexier encounters.

When Jake receives devastating news about the last remaining member of his unit, the darkness he’s resisted for so long begins to overwhelm him. Scared to let anyone close, he pushes Maddie away. But she isn’t about to give up on Jake that easily. Maddie’s fallen for him, and she’ll do anything to keep him from the edge as they both discover that love is a battlefield and there are some fights you just can’t lose.

What can I say about this book but WOW! Bedmates was not just about scandals and sex, but it was a beautifully written book that touched on some difficult issues. The choices that this couple made brought them together so that they could find their feet and a path in life when they seemed to be lost. They found companionship, fell in love and realised they were better people together. I loved getting to know them and their families and I want more NOW!

Maddie MacGuire may be the daughter of the US President, but she was also a passionate and independent woman. She volunteered at a local animal shelter and fought for animal rights. When a stunt went wrong, she was highly encouraged to help out with the Returning Combat Veteran Affairs Program, alongside Jake Simmon, the guy who made her life difficult before he enlisted to serve for his country.

I really liked Maddie and the dedication she had for her causes. She grew up a lot throughout the story and began to see the right ways to attack the issues that she cared about. She had a lot of energy, a kind heart and the will power to succeed. What she didn't expect was that her feelings for Jake would develop from dislike to love, so it was entertaining to see her work through her feelings.

Jake was a great guy as well. He had suffered after an incident in Afghanistan, but was finding his way now that he was home, helping Veterans who aren't as lucky as him. He had the influence of his mother, who happened to be the US Vice President. Working on the RCVA gave him something to focus on, but working with Maddie opened his eyes to see that the man that he was, is a lot different to the one he is now. His attraction grew for the feisty and focused woman who quickly got under her skin. It was obvious that Jake was fighting his own demons and I just hoped he faced them, before he lost his first real shot at happiness.

I loved seeing Jake and Maddie together, because they really had a lot in common and understood each other as they had been brought up in the same lifestyle. They made knew friendships along they way, and formed alliances that could be used in the future. They faced difficult times and it was interesting to see how they handled those situations. Nichole Chase sure knows how to weave an exquisite story that drew out my emotion's and even brought a tear to the eye! I cannot wait to continue this series, and meet more young couples from this world!

I loved how honest this conversation was... but it was the first time lines were becoming blurred!

“Rules?”
“That’s what my mom was reminding me of at the fund-raiser. I’m not supposed to want you.” His breath fluttered across my face.
“Do you . . . want me?”
“Yes.” That one word was drenched in ragged need. His warm lips pressed against mine and electricity rushed through my body.
The hand on the back of my neck tilted my head so he could kiss me better and I melted against him. I’d waited for this moment most of my life and I sure as hell wasn’t disappointed.
